This Fierce People: The Untold Story of America’s Revolutionary War in the South by Alan Pell Crawford.
Explores some of the often-overlooked stories of the American Revolution, especially events that happened in and around South Carolina. The author maintains that these events were pivotal in the northern battles and campaigns that we often hear more about. The battles in the south were more “guerrilla warfare” in nature, and the British had overestimated the loyalist sentiments there. Author Crawford focuses more on historical personalities than detailed accounts of battles.
