MARQUETTE — Marquette County Habitat for Humanity will break ground at 3pm Saturday for a house on the 1900 block of North Wilkinson Street in Marquette. The public is invited to join in with Habitat volunteers, city officials, and neighborhood residents who’ll be on hand to celebrate the commencement of efforts. The structure will be the third house in the two-year history of the county’s Habitat for Humanity program and the second in Marquette.

NEGAUNEE — Members of the Negaunee School District maintenance staff, augmented by a special crew of five painters, are carrying on one of the most extensive school renovation programs that the district has undertaken in several years. Included in the summer painting program are the machine shop and a lavatory in the industrial arts building, three classrooms, the walls and ceilings of corridors on all three floors of the high school, and the bleachers at the athletics field.
