MARQUETTE — Armed with an acoustic guitar and wry wit, Dave Martin writes open-hearted songs whose thematic reaches have included traveling, the Great Lakes, pirates, baseball players and his Midwestern background. The folk tunes on Martin’s album, Imagination in Focus, exude a charm similar to that of his musical influence, Steve Goodman. Dave Martin embodies the storytelling singer/songwriter legacy.

Come to MooseWood Nature Center on Peter White Dr. in Presque Isle Park. The show will be held at 6 p.m. July 25 in the pavilion behind the Nature Center, or inside in the event of inclement weather. A $5 donation is suggested. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
