UPEC event in Copper Country

HANCOCK — The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition, UPEC, invites the Public to join them from 12:30 to 8:30 on Saturday for an event to Celebrate the U.P.

This free event will take place at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Hancock. Things will start at 12:30 with our annual general membership meeting followed by this lineup of guest speakers starting at 1 p.m.:

≤ Karen Brzys on Lake Superior Agates;

≤ Steve Waller on Carbon Capture in Forests;

≤ Tribal member Thomas B. Peacock, with an Ojibwe story told by wolves;

≤ Raymond Weglarz on Paddling the Wild Waters of the Western U.P.;

The speakers will be followed by a meet and greet at 6 p.m. and live music from 6:30-8:30 p.m. by Beechgrove & Blacksmith. All are welcome to this free public celebration! As usual, the Orpheum cafe and pizza will be open to purchase refreshments throughout the day!
