Rock and mineral club to meet

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cliff Shaft Mine Museum, 501 W. Euclid St., in Ishpeming.

April’s Program is the annual Rock and Mineral Silent Auction

Mineral specimens, from the Upper Peninsula and beyond, donated by members and de-accessioned from the club’s collection can be bid on and purchased through the silent auction process.

A special live auction for an opportunity to attend a special Mine tour will also take place.

This is an opportunity to purchase beautiful, unique specimens with proceeds going to support the club and its ongoing projects. If you want to enhance your collection, or help a child start or add to their collection, this is the place to be on Sunday afternoon.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. to allow members and visitors time to observe the first silent auction specimens and to view the club’s mineral collection and fluorescent display.

A door prize drawing, a 50/50 drawing and a business meeting will follow the program.

Everyone is welcome to attend, enjoy, and learn about the wonders of rocks and minerals. There is no admission fee.
