ESCANABA — The Delta County Historical Society and Escanaba Downtown Development Authority (DDA) are looking for donations to help save the Sawyer-Stoll building and other downtown structures. They are hoping to raise about $40,000 from Escanaba businesses and residents to preserve the 106-year-old building, which must be moved to make room for the new city hall/public library complex. The DDA is hoping to get support from local banks and other businesses in an effort to preserve some of the city s past.
