Planned giving program planned

MARQUETTE — From 3:30-5 p.m., a program titled “Planned Giving: Building a Legacy” will be presented in the Shiras Room, Peter White Public Library.

Planned giving (sometimes referred to as gift planning or legacy giving) enables philanthropic individuals to make the greatest impact possible with gifts to charitable organizations.

Some planned gifts are completed during a donor’s life, others are made after death, while others provide income to the donor during life before the completion of the gift. During this session, we will learn more about the primary options for making these gifts; the tax consequences associated with them; and what makes planned giving unique.

Presenter: Patricia (“Trish”) Davis, managing partner and Attorney at Kendricks Bordeau. $5 members, $10 nonmembers. Liaison: Carol Steinhaus, 906-458-5408, csteinha@nmu.edu. Limit: 35.
