MARQUETTE — Ski jumpers and teammates, Kaija Copenhaver of Marquette and Isaac Larson of Negaunee, both U16 skiers from the Ishpeming Ski Club, competed in the 2024 USA Nordic Junior National Championships held at the Karl Eid Jumping Complex in Anchorage, AK. The ski jumping events, held on the K65 ski jump, took place between Feb. 27 and March 2.

Kaija teamed up with an Inter Mountain Division U16 female skier and placed 1st in the team Nordic combined event. Kaija also placed 2nd in both the individual ski jumping, and team ski jumping (teaming up with an Inter Mountain Division skier) competitions.

Isaac placed 2nd in the team ski jumping (Central Division team) competition, he teamed up with another Central Division skier to place 4th in the team Nordic combined event, and he placed 8th in the individual ski jumping competition.
