MARQUETTE — A gift from Marquette pioneer Peter White’s great-granddaughter will set up a scholarship program at Northern Michigan University. The gift from Mrs. Lincoln Frazier of Marquette will create scholarships in the Walker L. Cisler College of Business. The gift will also be used to begin work on a U.P. Heritage Center around the Superior Dome concourse, and to complete the main Lounge in the Don H. Bottum University Center, which will be named after White, the NMU Board said Friday. “We are very grateful to Mrs. Frazier,” NMU President William Vandament said, “it also gives us the opportunity to give Peter White some recognition for the central role he played in establishing this university.”
