Our Enemies Will Vanish: The Russian Invasion and Ukraine's War of Independence by Yaroslav Trofimov
Author Trofimov is the chief foreign-affairs correspondent at the Wall Street Journal. He was raised in Kyiv, Ukraine and has spent the much of the past two years working out of Ukraine to document the war with Russia. The first year of the struggle is documented in this book. It covers the initial response to the invasion, key battles in the conflict, a general overview of the issues at hand, and is contrasted against the struggle of the everyday citizens of Ukraine and their stories. The book's title is derived from a line in the Ukrainian national anthem, "our enemies will vanish, like dew in the sun."
