GLADSTONE-- What's the Bible about? That's the question central to Bible 101, a workshop set for 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Grace Church in Gladstone.
The workshop will address questions like: Can the Bible be trusted? Is there a central theme? A central character? Why are there Old and New Testaments, and are they consistent? Grace Church lead pastor Tim Haugen, and pastor of Felch Mountain Bible Chapel Joe Basso will be available to answer questions during the workshop in the church sanctuary. They'll take others, as well, from participants in the event, in an open Q&A after the lesson.
Haugen said, "The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It describes God's interaction with humanity, the life and teachings of Jesus and the basis of the Christian faith. It's important for believers in Christ to understand the meaning of the book, the inspiration and the trustworthiness." The workshop is free and open to the entire community. Refreshments will also be offered, according to deacon of Men's Ministry Gary Cass. "You don't have to register; you can just show up," Cass said.
