Demolition progress continues

The demolition of the old Marquette General Hospital continues on College Avenue in the city of Marquette on Tuesday. The site of the former hospital, which has been largely vacant since the opening of the new UP Health System-Marquette complex on Baraga Avenue, is currently owned by the Northern Michigan University Foundation. The site is expected to become a mixed-use complex that will include housing. The foundation authorized the locally-owned Veridea Group as the developer for the 17.4 acre site.
