Carnegie to host Jack Deo event

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library, in collaboration with an award-winning photographer, will take viewers on a historic tour of Ishpeming this Saturday.

Viewers will be able to look at old photographs Deo has collected and researched over the years during a livestream on ICPL’s Facebook page at noon on Saturday. During the stream, viewers will be able to watch the event live or after on the library’s Facebook or website at their convenience.

Deo is an award-winning photographer and owner of Superior View Historic Photography in Marquette. According to an ICPL press release, Deo collaborated with ICPL to share this “special” collection of historic photographs from Ishpeming.

He recently gave an in-person presentation of historic Ishpeming with an attendance of 60 people.

“The library is excited to make this event available virtually because there was a lot of interest from people who no longer live in Ishpeming, but have strong ties to the area and wanted to be able to see the program,” ICPL librarian Nicole Johnson said in the press release. “We are so glad to be able to make this event available to them.”

Any questions regarding the event can be directed to the library by calling 906-486-4381.
