Lids on Kids Helmet Clinic: Marquette Mountain Ski Patrol to hold Snowsports Safety Day

MARQUETTE — Marquette Mountain Ski Patrol is once again partnering with Eagle Mine and Upper Peninsula Health Plan to sponsor a the distribution of free, high quality, snowsports helmets with proper fitting during MMSP’s Lids on Kids and Snowsports Safety Day.

Through a special purchasing program at DownWind Sports, Eagle Mine and UPHP have provided funds for 125 Giro MIPS helmets to be fit and gifted to the first 125 size-eligible Marquette County youth to attend the Snowsports Safety Day at Marquette Mountain Resort on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Held in conjunction with Marquette Mountain’s Winter Season Kick-Off, in addition to the helmet giveaway, there will be Lift and Snowsport Safety Information, videos and games onsite.

The Tbar and Mountain Shop will be open featuring live music and season pass sales and pick-up opportunities.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. with the event running until 6 p.m. Deb Cook, MMSP representative adds “We are excited to be once again partnering with Eagle Mine and UPHP to offer these high quality, snowports safety helmets and education to help enable Marquette County youth to safely enjoy our fantastic winter recreation opportunities at Marquette Mountain.”
