LAKE SUPERIOR COMMUNITY
PARTNERSHIP media release
Marquette-Third Street Marketplace (3RDSTMP) and Pizza@Marquetteannounced its grand opening on Friday.
The Lake Superior Community Partnership assisted with a ribbon cutting to mark the celebration at its location 1034 N. Third Street in Marquette.
In August of 2020, Marketplace owner Joe Constance started the plans for transforming the vacant building that used to house a grocery store into the Marketplace. As of Friday, three food and beverage businesses are now under the Marketplace roof. Building owner Ann Constance stated “We are excited that a vacant building in our downtown area now offers a variety of food and drinks to our residents, students, and visitors. It took the work of many people, and we are grateful to all of them for helping to make this happen.”
Within the Marketplace is Kognisjon Bryggeri, a brewery and taproom that Cognition owner Jay Clancey and his team brought from the Ishpeming Cognition Brewery to the 3RDSTMP in May.
Chef Kevin Bray, manager of the popular Fish Expressfood truck, joined in February to have its storefront in 3RDSTMP, where patronswill find delicious fish, chicken and other specialty items on the menu.
The newest addition to 3RSTMP is Pizza@Marquette, managed by Brandon Wicks.
Pizza@Marquette offersa variety of toppings and specialty sized pizzas with gluten-free and vegan-friendly options that cook in under 3 minutes.
The three businesses in 3RDSTMP ran specials throughout the weekend to celebrate the Marketplace’s grand opening.
Constance said that the Marketplace still has one lease hold available, and they are working with several entities on something that will complementthe other three tenants.
