MARQUETTE — For the first time since 1988, the Northern Michigan University football Wildcats have received a national ranking in the NCAA Division II poll. Coach Mark Marana’s 4-0 Wildcats are ranked 18th on the top 20 poll released Tuesday afternoon. Three MIFC teams — NMU, Ferris State (11th) and Grand Valley State (16) — are ranked in the top 20.

MARQUETTE — Members of various 4-H horse and saddle clubs throughout Marquette County will present a horse show on Saturday, Oct 12, just south of the parking lot at the National Guard Armory in Marquette in conjunction with the Marquette County Harvest Festival being held there Oct. 10-12. Judges for the event will be Mrs. Ann Olson and Laura Olson of Houghton County. A trophy will be presented to the boy or girl judge the top rider at the show and ribbons will also be awarded to all contestants participating.
