A helicoper hovers over the target during Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan's inaugural Golf Ball Drop raffle on Saturday. A helicopter from the Enstrom Helicopter Corporation in Menominee dropped golf balls to match tickets sold. Prizes were awarded to the winning tickets held by Sally Shaver, $10,000; Glen Pittman, $1,500; and Jake Bilodeau, $500. The viewing party was sponsored by VAST Insurance and Gordon’s Foods, with volunteers from Marquette Lions Club on hand to share in the fun. The funds raised from the event go to support recreational programming for children in treatment group homes on the Sands Township campus. TFH, a human services agency that operates treatment group homes for youth with behavioral issues from across Michigan, operates in-home programs across the Upper Peninsula to help families in danger of being broken up and juvenile justice diversion alternative programs in the eastern U.P.
