Fudge Festival at Mackinac Island

MACKINAC ISLAND -- Mackinac Island, also known as the "Fudge Capital of the World," will hold its annual Fudge Festival on Aug. 25-27.

New this year, Mackinac Island debuted a first-of-its-kind "Fun-tastical Fudge Naming Competition," calling on fudge fans to submit ideas for a fun fudge name.

Once the winner is selected, six participating fudge makers -- Joann's Fudge Shop, Kilwins Mackinac Island Fudge, May's Candy Shop, Original Murdick's Fudge, Ryba's Fudge Shops and Sanders Fudge & Candy Shop -- will create their version of the winning name, which will be served during the festival.

There will be a variety of events as well as fudge-inspired food and beverage specials offered throughout the the weekend.
