LANSING -- Mary Patay of Mackinac Island, the recreation director for the city of Mackinac and a writer for the Michigan Fitness Foundation, has been named by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
Patay holds a bachelor of arts in business psychology from Miami University, a master of science in physical fitness from the University of North Dakota, and a Ph.D. in sports and exercise science from the University of Northern Colorado. Patay is reappointed as the chairperson for a term that expires on June 30, 2025.
This appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate.
