MUNISING -- Munising Moose Lodge #1386 hosts the 4th Annual Beer on the Bay Craft Beer Tasting Festival, held on the beautiful shore of Lake Superior at Munising's Bayshore Park on Saturday, July 29 from 2-6 p.m.
his year's beer offering is ByGeorge Brewing Co., East Channel Brewing Company, Flatiron Brewing Co., Latulip Brewing Co., Superior Culture, The Vierling and Upper Peninsula Brewing Company.
According to a press release, Munising Moose Lodge prides itself in producing events to actively support both local and Moose Charities throughout the year. Whether it is for a community member in need of medical aid or a local kid focused-group like the Munising Cub Scouts. The proceeds from Beer on the Bay continue to honor that focus with proceeds benefiting community needs.
"Beer on the Bay is an annual Munising Moose Lodge event to raise money for helping others, but also to celebrate with our patrons and supporters with this spirited craft beer festival," said John Deisenroth, Munising Moose #1386 Lodge President, in the release. "It's an opportunity to have fun, experience different crafts, and enjoy each other's company."
In addition to the Upper Peninsula sampling of craft beers offered, two local Munising breweries are also supporting this year's festival. ByGeorge Brewing Co. and East Channel Brewing Company are frequent supporters of Munising Moose Lodge fundraising efforts.
"It's awesome to participate in this annual event and watch Munising Moose Lodge's festival grow each year," said Joe Desjardins, East Channel Brewing Company partner.
"Joe [DesJardins] and I grew up in Munising, and both of us do our best to lend support to our community whenever possible," said George Schultz, ByGeorge Brewing Co. partner. "We know that anything that the Munising Moose Lodge does, will be a benefit to our neighbors."
In addition to the craft beer, The Cooking Carberry's Wood Fired Pizza and Catering will be serving up their epic pizza, as well as other foodie delights. There will also be live music with Jim and Ray and also Whiskey Ryan + Catfish Kennedy. Designated drivers get free pop and water.
Tickets can be purchased three ways -- online at https://beeronthebay2023.eventbrite.com; at the Munising Moose Lodge; or the day of the event at the festival. Each $35 ticket comes with a souvenir glass and 10 tokens. Tokens can be used for a four-ounce taste of any offering. Additional tokens are $3 each. 12-ounce tokens can also be purchased for $4.50.
