MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Airport Committee should be expanded from three to five members because the airport is important to the community, a county commissioner said Tuesday. The committee is the airport’s day-to-day governing body, acting as a liaison between the County Board and airport management. The committee approves monthly airport expenses and makes policy decisions. County Commissioner Greg Seppanen said the airport committee is doing an excellent job, but that the airport is a vital asset to the county and should be run by a broader committee.

MARQUETTE — The latest development in automotive mechanics, the Reo self-shifter, will be demonstrated here today when the Irving J Nault Reo agency shows the first of the new Reo models to be brought to Marquette. The car will arrive here today and tomorrow for demonstration purposes. Although it is recognized as one of the most revolutionary automotive developments in years, the Reo self-shifter is one of the simplest, according to those who have tried it. There is no gear lever in the car. All the driver has to do is steer and operate the clutch. Ted Fulsher, manager of the Nault agency here, said, “We have been trying for several weeks to get a car to show in Marquette, but the factory is so rushed that we were unable to get one until this week. The car will arrive in Marquette Saturday afternoon and we will be glad to demonstrate it to anyone who is interested.”

Starting at $3.23/week.
