MARQUETTE -- Hiawatha Music Co-op will welcome Minnesota acoustic master Michael Monroe, shown above, to the stage at Ore Dock Brewing Co. for the last Hiawatha on Tap event of the season.
Ore Dock Brewing Co. is located at 114 W. Spring St. in Marquette. The music begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to a Hiawatha releae: "Monroe's music is nothing short of mesmerizing. His full, rich baritone voice is reminiscent of Gordon Lightfoot and Cat Stevens (or are they reminiscent of him?). Monroe's music reaches into the soul with well-crafted songwriting and evocative fingerstyle guitar work. The combination is more than the sum of the parts, and wraps around you like a warm blanket."
Admission is $5 for Hiawatha members and $10 for non-members. Kids under 12 are free.
While most Hiawatha on Tap events have a party atmosphere, this event is different, the release states. It will be more concert-like than most Hiawatha on Tap events, and is an opportunity to do what we don't do very often: listen deeply and intentionally.
