BARK RIVER -- Retired Great Lakes freighter captain Raymond Sheldon and Escanaba photographer and entrepreneur Peggy O'Connell will present "Love and Life on the Great Lakes" at the Delta County Historical Society's 75th Annual Dinner Meeting on May 17.
The event at Highland Golf Club in Bark River is open to both members and non-members.
Ray Sheldon retired as captain of the Joseph L. Block after a 45-year career on Great Lakes freighters. Peggy O'Connell is a photographer and entrepreneur in Escanaba.
The couple, popularly known as "Mr. and Mrs. Captain," married on the MV Joseph L. Block in June of 2019. They continue to travel and share their professional and personal adventures.
Cost for the event is $30 and includes a buffet dinner and the program. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The dinner buffet opens at 6 p.m., and the program starts at 7 p.m. There will be a short meeting.
