MARQUETTE — Ten one-week graduate-level workshops will be offered during the 1993 summer session by Northern Michigan University’s Department of Continuing Education and the Seaborg Center.

Registration will begin Monday at the Continuing Education Credit Programs Office, Room 410 of the Cohodas Administrative Center.

The workshops will cover such topics as environmental education and outdoor science, geology of the Upper Peninsula, using “hypercard” in science and mathematics, geometry, NASA space science and the study history for teachers.

ESCANABA — Counterfeit quarters made their appearance in Escanaba this week, Escanaba police reported yesterday.

The 25-cent pieces are somewhat lighter than the genuine money and have the usual false ring. A groceryman turned over one of the counterfeit coins to police yesterday.
