Celebrating 6 years of spreading goodness

Local 3 UP Matters

Six years! That’s how long Spread Goodness Day has been making a difference and Local 3 News has been involved every year. The day goes perfectly with the station’s motto, ‘Your Stories, Our Community’ because being involved and making a difference in your community goes far beyond anything else.

Back in 2018, each person would do something different, a variety of small good deeds. Local 3 is a team and with power in numbers, for the past four years the station has made it a group effort. They choose a different cause every year to sprinkle a little sunshine upon.

In 2019, Local 3 provided a meal for Room at the Inn in Marquette. 2020 was a year of putting their artistic skills to the test with making cards for children in hospitals called ‘Cards for Hospitalized Kids.’ In 2021 Local 3 partnered with United Way of Marquette County’s ‘Yoopers United’ volunteer opportunities to make goodie bags for senior citizens. Last year, the station helped out their friends at Jacobetti Home for Veterans by donating items off of their wish list and making cards for the residents.

Local 3 is excited for another year of spreading goodness and you’ll just have to see what they have in store for Spread Goodness Day 2023!
