MARQUETTE — Agricultural agents in the Upper Peninsula have become keenly interested in the subject of blueberry cultivation as a result of the annual Michigan State college extension conference, held here Wednesday and Thursday, according to J. G. Well, Jr., U.P. county agent leader. Stanley Johnson, superintendent of the M.S.C. horticultural station in South Haven and one of the best authorities on blueberries in the United States, addressed the agents here and gave them valuable suggestions relative to varieties of blueberry plants, propagation, cultivation, picking and packing. Confining his attention to blueberries, Mr. Johnson said there were two types, high bush and low bush. The high bush variety grows to great heights under cultivation and often grows taller than a man, while the low bush type grows only two or three feet high under cultivation.

Starting at $4.00/week.
