By Journal Staff

MARQUETTE — The city of Marquette has received seven applications for the vacant Marquette City Commission seat.

The applications came from Peter Frazier, Cary Gottlieb, Michael Larson, James Rankin, Tony Tollefson, Jen Tucker and Nina van den Ende.

The city commission has indicated an intention to provide an opportunity for the applicants to speak during the its regular meeting on Monday, when it is expected it will make the appointment.

The new commissioner will fill the seat vacated by Evan Bonsall, who moved out of the area.

On Dec. 19, the city commission appointed Jermey Ottaway for a seat vacated by Jenn Hill, who was elected to serve as state representative for Michigan’s 109th House District.
