IRS status confirmed

MARQUETTE — Zero Degrees Gallery, located at 525 N. Third St. (corner of Third and Ohio streets), Marquette, has announced that it has been determined by the IRS that it is officially approved as a 501(c)3.

This allows Zero Degrees to be tax exempt from federal income tax under the provisions of article 501(c)3 and is now regarded as a public charity. This qualifies the gallery to receive tax deductible gifts and grants and move forward in it’s mission as a community based non-profit.

The gallery consists of 40 local artists who have been juried into the gallery. Their purpose and intention is to (1) help independent area artists to succeed as entrepreneurial, self-employed, business people, while continuing to enhance their artistic skills.

Artwork sold has a commission taken, enabling the Gallery to have a space to show artwork and offer events and opportunities to the public. (2) offer high quality local visual art to the community, both for enjoyment and purchase. (3) to provide art education to the community through events, classes, and exhibitions.
