Enviro conference Wednesday
MARQUETTE — “Cleaning up Our Local Waterways and Environmental Involvement” will be the topic of the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning’s next talk, scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Peter White Public Library’s Heritage Room.
The speakers will be Erik Johnson, secretary of the Presque Isle Park Advisory Committee, local scuba diver and college student, and Don Fassbender, president of the Great Lakes Scuba Diving and Lake Preservation Club.
Through discussion and a video, they will talk about putting together a harbor cleanup, what happens underwater during a cleanup, and local water conditions and initiatives aimed at Black Rocks on Presque Isle.
