1 dead in Dickinson County crash
WAUCEDAH — One person is dead and four others injured following a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 2 in Dickinson County on Monday.
According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, a 2018 Cadillac was traveling westbound on U.S. 2 near Habammer Road in Waucedah Township when the driver failed to negotiate a corner, crossed into the eastbound lane and into a ditch where it rolled over.
The 81-year-old driver from Rapid River was pronounced dead at the scene. The four other occupants of the vehicle were transported to Marshfield Dickinson for non-life threatening injuries.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the accident, however the incident remains under investigation.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Norway Fire, North Alert Ambulance, Integrity Ambulance, the Dickinson County Road Commission and Norway Auto Body.
