MARQUETTE — The Hiawatha Music Co-op announces it will hold a first-of-its kind Co-op Holiday Celebration on Small Business Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

The event will be held at the Hiawatha Music Co-op Office (The Fold), 1015 N. Third St., Marquette, and will feature the goods and wares of several of Marquette’s favorite cooperatives under one roof; Zero Degrees Gallery, Drifa Brewing Company, and of course, Hiawatha.

The Read Up Bookmobile will be in attendance as well, with free books for eager readers of all ages.

Shoppers can browse the offerings of local artists, purchase Drifa Brewing Company gift cards and a variety of their branded merchandise, and peruse the wide assortment of Hiawatha T-shirts, hoodies, hats, and other giftable merchandise. Grab a book from the Read Up Bookmobile and find a spot on one of our comfy couches while enjoying live music.

The Knockabouts will play from 1 to 2:15 p.m. and duo John Gillette & Sarah Mittlefehldt will play from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Perhaps the hottest item available at this event will be 2023 Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival wristband vouchers at 2022 prices. They will be available for sale at the event and through Dec. 24 by stopping in, calling or emailing the HMC Office.

All who visit for the Co-op Holiday Celebration will be entered for a drawing for a variety of prizes, including Marquette Food Co-op Gift Cards ($60 value), a Yeti Camino Heavy Load Carryall ($150 value), Yeti Rambler Bottle ($50 value) and an Eno DoubleNest Hammock ($80 value).

Baskets will be available for shoppers who want to create custom gift baskets.

A children’s crafts area will be staffed by Hiawatha volunteers, and a hot cocoa bar will be provided to make the shopping merry.
