MARQUETTE — David McNamee, owner of the Shoe Salon, says the store’s recent move to the Westwood Mall in Marquette is a big part of an ambitious long-term business plan. “We’ve attained a goal that we dreamed of only 10 years ago,” he said. At that time, he and his wife Elizabeth opened a 700-square-foot shoe sales and repair shop in the Washington Street Mall in downtown Marquette. On their new 2,500-square-foot store, McNamee said he has more room to display high quality leather goods. The store carries a wide variety of shoes for men and women, and more than 25 lines of brand name boots. Old favorites such as Dexter, Zodiac and Regence are featured with newcomers like Hi-Tec and Lake of the Woods. Even if you’ve got an odd shoe size, the Shoe Salon’s large selection of styles and brands will likely produce ideal footwear for just about every customer, McNamee said. Women’s styles are offered in sizes from AAA to D width. And men’s styles are stocked in widths from B to EEE. And the store’s repair shop employees can fix leather shoes or jackets, reheel ot resole shoes and dye fabric footwear. Some belt or luggage jobs can also be handled.
