Local gift guide to be released

MARQUETTE — Taste the Local Difference, Michigan’s local food marketing, media and consulting agency, wil release its annual Michigan Local Gift Guide on Nov. 1.

This shopping guide spotlights unique, Michigan-made gifts to encourage shoppers to choose local during holiday shopping.

“The guide has become the place where I do my own personal holiday shopping,” Tricia Phelps, CEO of Taste the Local Difference, said in a news release. “You can find incredible gifts for family and friends, while at the same time feeling good about supporting local producers throughout Michigan.”

Visitors to the site will find products from Short’s Brewing, Iron Fish Distillery, Ryba’s Fudge, Arbor Teas and more familiar names from across the state, as well as items from small businesses.

Each business highlights two or more of their best gift ideas that shoppers purchase directly from their sites. The guide also will showcase regional lists of unique businesses that may offer special holiday deals, live music or specialized gifts that don’t ship as easily, such as Michigan-made spirits and centerpiece proteins.

Shoppers can find features on non-profit organizations, with links for charitable giving.
