Artful water winner
“Lookin’ for Brookies,” painted by Joe Drozd, is the Popular Choice winner of the recent Community Art exhibits at Marquette City Hall, which was on display from June through September and was inspired by the city’s Art Week theme, “Water.” First runner-up went to “First Light” by Catherine Brunet, while second runner-up was a tie between “Power” by Monica Zehder, “3 Times the Sturgeon” by Ilah Wilson and “Meet Each Wave, Then Laugh and Repeat” by Elizabeth Bates. The next exhibit is “Falling in Love with Marquette,” which will be displayed through Feb. 10 at City Hall. (Photo courtesy of the city of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture)
