ISHPEMING — Bell Memorial Hospital holds a public open house to display its newly renovated obstetrics unit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The open house officially kicks off Bell’s new “Royal Family Program” featuring the only private maternity suites in the region. The program offers mothers delivering at Bell a private room designed for new moms and their families. “We are really excited about what is happening in our obstetrics program,” said David Edwards, Bell vice president. “We have completely reorganized our childbirth education service, including hiring an education coordinator, and now with our newly remodeled O.B. unit, we believe Bell has greatly enhanced the celebration of life that takes place with birth in a family.” The open house will include refreshments and giveaways as well as tours of the suites.

TROWBRIDGE PARK — Bicycles joined the parade of automobiles and other vehicles, which wound past St. Christopher’s Church in Trowbridge Park yesterday for the annual blessing marking the feast of St. Christopher, patron saint of travelers. The Rev. Matthew Nyman and the Very Rev. Arnold L. Cassanova conducted the blessing rite for many, including Joe Kelley, Danny Belmore, Roger Nadeau, and altar boys James and John Kelley. The Kelley boys are children of Mrs. Don Beauchamp; young Nadeau’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nadeau Jr., and the Belmore boy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Belmore.
