MARQUETTE — T.A. Veiht, president of the Marquette Skeet Club, invited hunters and shooters in the Upper Peninsula to participate in the “Hunter’s Special” skeet shoot at the Marquette skeet field Sunday. This will be a 50-target event and will be open to the public. Competition is scheduled to start promptly at 10 and continue throughout the day. Shooting will be conducted in four classes, according to the shooter’s known ability. “In this kind of shoot, the beginner does not have to compete with experts,” Veiht said. “All shooters compete in their own class so that anyone can win.” Len Beaudry of Marquette took first place in this week’s shoot by breaking 48 out of 50 targets. Dr. W.J. Saari of Marquette finished second with 47. Others who broke 40 or more targets were Berwick Miller and Robert Anthony, both of Marquette, 44 each; William Martin and Walter Nuska, both of Marquette, 43 each; and Roland Juchemich and Charles Giotto, both of Negaunee, 40 each.

Starting at $3.23/week.
