NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee City Council tonight will hear from a group of East Lincoln Street residents who are upset about iron ore dust. City Assessor Bruce Waananen, who is filling in for City Manager Ken Huber, said a group of residents have circulated a petition protesting red iron ore dust that is spread by garbage trucks heading to the company garage. Waananen said the residents want the trucks to take an alternate road and discussions have taken place about possibly building a road for the trucks. In addition, the council is expected to discuss revisions to ordinances that prohibit incinerators, open burning and improper disposal of yard clippings.
