Included were 7,243 pounds of such substances as cleaning solvents, weed killers, pesticides and paints. In addition, there were 98 car batteries, 2,404 gallons of used motor oil, 80 gallons of antifreeze and 18 gallons of photographic fixer. The batteries, oil and fixer were recycled while the other material was disposed in a licensed facility.

MARQUETTE — An air search was being conducted today for a missing Marquette pilot, Russell Cannon, last seen when he departed the Flint airport at 4:40 Christmas Day. Flying a two-place Culver aircraft, and thought to be alone, Cannon was en route from Monroe and presumably due back to Marquette, where he was expected to report to work Tuesday. He is employed at Armour & Co. John C. Hannan, chief of the Federal Aviation Agency flight service station at the Marquette County Airport, reported this morning that a full scale search has been instigated for Cannon, on request of the FAA here. Assisting in the search in the Upper Peninsula are the Michigan State Police from all Peninsula posts, and several local pilots, using their own planes to check Manistique.
