Desert Storm open house scheduled
MARQUETTE — An open house for the 30-year Desert Storm anniversary will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday at Northern Michigan University’s Northern Center.
There will be free food and drinks and a keynote address at 4 p.m. by George LaBlonde III, UH-60 Blackhawk Pilot of the 101st Airborne Division.
The event, held by the Marquette County Department of Veterans Affairs, will include VA health care representatives, veteran service officers and local historians. All Desert Storm veterans from across the Upper Peninsula are urged to attend, organizers said. Call 485-1996 for more information.
