≤ Aug. 7, Marquette Township Community Day, Lions Field, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Softball tournament; inflatables for the kids from noon to 4 p.m.; live music from noon to 10 p.m. with Eddie and the Bluesers, Iron Daisy and The Maynards; Brats, burgers, chips, water, pop available all day from Super One Foods; static display of police, fire and emergency response equipment.

≤ Aug. 6-8, 45th Annual Gem and Mineral Show, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 597 Lakeshore Drive, Ishpeming. There will be two field trips for mineral collection at the Republic Iron Ore Mine on Aug. 6 and the Lindberg Quarry in Negaunee on Aug. 8. There will be a treasure hunt for families as well.
