MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police and Marquette Township EMS and Fire were dispatched to the area of County Road 492 near Lake Enchantment Drive for a single-vehicle personal injury accident at 11:43 p.m. Thursday. Deputies said initial investigation determined a female driver had traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a power pole. The vehicle, a red 2003 Pontiac Vibe, struck the pole and severed it off.An off-duty deputy had been the first on the scene and was able to assist in first aid to the woman who was transported to UPHS-Marquette with non-life threatening injuries.The crash remains under investigation.
