MARQUETTE — Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Hewitt Avenue between Spruce Street and Pine Street will be closed to through traffic.

This is the beginning of phase one of a three-phase project to replace utilities and reconstruct Hewitt Avenue – between Spruce Street and Pine Street — and Pine Street — between Hewitt Avenue and Prospect Street. Work on this phase is expected to last five weeks.

The Hewitt Avenue traffic will be detoured around the closure via Prospect Street. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour, and advisory signing.
