The North Building, which has been under construction since June 1990, includes a greatly enhanced psychiatric program, advanced technology and services for the hospital’s cardiac program, an upgraded physical rehabilitation center, a newly consolidated admitting office, medical records, quality assurance and a gift shop. Larson was unanimously reelected for a 17th term as president at the annual reorganizational meeting of the MGH Board of Trustees.

MICHIGAMME — A large crew of men is furnishing work on the detours which will be used this summer between Champion and Michigamme while the new concrete highway is under construction. The Marquette County Road Commission has authorized construction of two detours in addition to the one which is now in use between Beacon and Lake Michigamme. One detour will run across the Epworth league grounds and follow the Chicago & Northwestern railway grade which has been abandoned, from where it will cut through Christ Olson’s farm, west of Epworth grounds. It will be about three-quarters of a mile in length. The other detour will start at the top of the hill a mile or two east of Michigamme and follow the old road into Michigamme, which was used prior to 18 years ago when the present road was built.
