MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University will host a virtual panel discussion titled “Understanding the Jan. 6 Assault on the U.S. Capitol” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. NMU professors representing four disciplines will share their perspectives.

Panelists include Jonathan Allen, political theory; Petra Hendrickson, international relations and comparative politics; Alan McEvoy, sociology; and Rebecca Mead, history.

Each professor will provide a brief 10-12 minute presentation, followed by comments and questions from the audience. Carter Wilson, NMU’s political science department head and professor, will serve as host and moderator.
