Artist meet & greet Saturday

MARQUETTE — Jason Schneider, assistant professor of furniture design and woodworking at Northern Michigan University, is the guest artist for the month of April at the Zero Degrees Art Gallery, located at 525 N. Third St. in Marquette.

“He is nationally known for his work making furniture and other artistic pieces out of sheets of corrugated cardboard, which he laminates together and uses as material for his unique art projects,” organizers said in an announcement. “He has an extensive repertoire and has his pieces in collections throughout the US. He was a former instructor in furniture design and woodworking at the well-respected Anderson Ranch School in Snowmass Co.”

A selection of his work is on display and for sale at the Zero Degrees gallery through the month of April. There will be a meet and greet session from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Social distancing and masks are required. Samples of his work can be seen on the internet by searching for “Jason Schneider furniture,” organizers said.
