MARQUETTE — Its plant equipment well adapted to the work, the Lake Shore Engine Works, of Marquette, has begun the manufacture of various types of snow plows to meet the demand in the Upper Peninsula and elsewhere. Plows built in the Lake Shore plant range from horse-drawn units to the larger type of tractor plows with adjustable wings for highway work. Another type of plow built at the Lake Shore is a small unit designed to be attached to the front of an ordinary automobile. The Lake Shore recently furnished truck plows to Marquette, Dickinson, Gogebic, Houghton, Delta counties and the state highway department, a tractor plow to Breitung Township, and various other types of plows to townships in Upper and Lower Michigan. Because of its location, in the heart of the Lake Superior snow belt, the Marquette plant is in a position to take care of service requirements of its plows. When snow plow operators experience the necessity of placing all their equipment into service, it is imperative that they have a source from which to secure repair parts and service on short notice.
