CHAMPION — A snowmobile driver was injured in a Wednesday accident on U.S. 41 in Champion Township.

The Michigan State Police Negaunee Post said that at about 4 p.m., troopers responded to the scene of an accident involving a snowmobile and a logging truck on U.S. 41 just east of Koski Corners.

A Michigan Department of Natural Resources officer who was first on the scene said the male driving the snowmobile was unconscious but had a pulse.

The male later regained consciousness and was transported to Upper Peninsula Health System-Marquette where he was put in intensive care.

No names of the individuals involved in the accident have been released.
