GWINN — Sleigh Rides for Sally’s Fund will take place on Sunday, Feb. 28 at Up North Lodge.

The date was chosen because it is National Horse Rescue Day. Sally’s Fund was created in memory of Sally Paajanen, who died tragically on Feb. 15, 2003. She was an avid horsewoman.

Sally’s Fund offers equines throughout the region the protection they deserve.

It’s managed by the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.

The event on Feb. 28 features sleigh rides at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and a chili dinner.

Cost is $20 per person and reservations are strongly recommended to be sure to have a seat: call Jesie at 906-360-7069 to reserve a spot.

Basket raffles will take place until 4:30 p.m. and there will be a bonfire as well.
