MARQUETTE -- Peter White Public Library will host its first winter reading program, "Flamingos in the Snow! Winter Reading 2021." This event, for kids 14 and under, kicks off Feb. 8 and will wrap up on April 30.

“Peter White Public Library is hoping to encourage reading while brightening up the winter landscape with colorful flamingos,” organizers said in an announcement.

Peter White Public Library's goal for the program "is to help children develop their love for reading and increase reading skills during these pandemic winter months," organizers said in the announcement.

Registration will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday inside the library.

After the kickoff, registration will be available inside PWPL during express in-person hours until Feb. 27.

Registration will also be available at pwpl.info, Youth Services, for patrons who prefer not to enter the building.
