‘Wreck and Rescue: The Loss of the AA Parker’ presented by Fountain in virtual history event
MARQUETTE –Marquette Maritime Museum’s Maritime History on Tap Virtual presents Dan Fountain’s Wreck and Rescue: the Loss of the AA Parker at 7 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
On Sept. 19, 1903, the A.A. Parker ran into a fierce Lake Superior gale and foundered four miles north of Grand Marais. The Life-Saving Service (with a little help) rescued all 17 crew members and two dogs before the Parker sank bow first.
